Welcome to It Pays Dividends, a blog that focuses on the focuses on things that we can do now that will pay us benefits in the future.  I focus on the habits and systems needed to build wealth and work towards a remarkable life.

I’m Thias, a 29 year old from Northeastern Wisconsin with my wife and 1 year old daughter.  I currently work as a controller with a local manufacturer (in other words, I work in Excel a lot!).  Over the last several years I have developed an interest in personal finance and finding ways to improve my financial situation.

My wife and I graduated college with a combined $55,000 in student loans that we worked hard to pay off.  In June 2015, we were able to make our final payment, paying off our balance in 4.5 years (with $36,000 coming within the last 18 months after finally kicking things into gear).

Now we are moving on to the next steps of our financial life, the pursuit of financial independence.  I always thought there was more to life than working until old age and then finally being able to set out to live a remarkable life.  Over the last year, I finally discovered financial independence and have been working towards achieving it since.

Feel free to reach out to me at anytime with questions or comments you may have on Twitter or via the contact page.

I truly believe that everyone of us has the ability to live a remarkable life – it all depends on if we are dedicated enough to work towards it or not. So let’s all start taking steps towards financial independence and achieving a remarkable life today.
